A Blue with no Bird

Little Blue Jays feathers forgotten,
In the woods,
The color still as alive as life on them.
The wings were scattered across the ground.
When Blue Jay left, it never knew if those were to be found.
An animal had taken this bird.
Swallowed up the heart and even the bones,
Must of been quick to of caught something with wings,
Instead of a cry, the Blue Jay just sings.
But maybe Blue Jay took his own feathers off,
Because he knew his time as a bird had ended.
He had seen all he wanted with his wings
Helping him fly over the endless skies,
Looking after his forests as best as he could,
Watching over them with two keen eyes.
He sang all the songs he knew,
And even wrote a few of his own.
Blue Jay was happy with himself,
So he decided to leave a part of him at home.
To thank the woods.
The place where he grew.
Then again, maybe it wasn't his decision.
Maybe an animal really did swallow him whole
But saw the beauty of the feathers
And decided to leave them there.
To make the rest of the woods feel full,
And filled with tender-loving care.
